According to the Oxford Dictionary, an aficionado is “a person who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about an activity, subject”, and that is just what the Aficionado Award community is about.
This year at the Buchmesse the Aficionado event celebrated Rita Mattar of Fosforo, Brazil, for the initiative Circulo De Poemas, a poetry-subscription program involving a network of independent publishers.
Also, at the celebratory dinner, the 2025 preliminary jury was announced: Laurence Laluyaux (Rogers, Coleridge & White Literary Agency), Camilla Cottafavi (Feltrinelli Editore) and Peter van der Zwaag (Uitgeverej De Bezige Bej). Stay tuned for more about the Aficionado Award.
